HAJA= HOPE

Believing that education can only happen when the most (essential) elementary of means are available, our group aims to renovate a school situated in New-Bell Bassa in Douala.
The situation of public schools in Cameroon at the current moment is catastrophic. Essential teaching materials like blackboards and even paper and pencils are missing.
Without appropriate school materials, with classes exceeding 100 pupils per teacher and no inspiring playground, the potential of the youth remains underdeveloped.
The project will improve the educational situation of 400 children and mark an important step in their self-empowerment.

Plan of Action

For the implementation of our project, the group is going 3 weeks to Cameroon. There efforts will be made to work with local people, facilities and teachers. This is going to happen in July 2010.

One of our main values regarding the project is sustainability. After successful building up of the school's facilities we will supervise the school's development, in order to help the school continue improving itself. At the end of the event, a meeting with the involved NGOs and workers is planned, where the working process and outcome of our project will be evaluated. Establishing satisfying connections are to be used for further projects.
In order to conduct the project, several activities are going to be organized in the Netherlands. These activities have the prospect of involving people, companies and, decision makers and of creating an awareness of the educational situation in Cameroon. In addition, local media, like radio, TV and, newspaper, are going to be used to promote our vision.

The project requires 15.000 euro. A minimum of 120 hours of work per person (6 persons) is needed. That adds up to 720 working hours for the whole group.

Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
